Phil Meadows, Director and Owner of Millbrook, has spent his whole career in the coatings industry. Starting out on the shop floor in 1985 Phil has a hands-on production bias and understands how the different coating processes work, the technical complexities and what is critical in product performance.
Working for various company’s over the years valuable experience has been achieved in:
- Waterbased, hotmelt, solvent and solventless adhesive coatings.
- Paper and filmic vacuum metallising.
- Barrier and heat seal lacquer coatings.
- Paper and filmic silicone coatings.
- Speciality corrugated board.
Taking this knowledge and the huge network of industry colleagues and businesses that have been built up over the years, Millbrook now exists as a service to the coatings world, providing speciality coated products, product development and consultancy services.
Over and above this, the ever-growing pressures associated with world pollution, have steered Millbrook to now try and work with responsible partners to address this problem. Our focus is always to make new products the ‘green’ way and in the case of existing products, explore new opportunities to re-engineer and approve them as an environmentally friendly product.
Putting the product to one side, Millbrook also assesses the ‘green’ credentials of the manufacturing process itself and endeavours to work with facilities that have addressed the minimisation of CO2 emissions during the production cycle. This has enabled Millbrook to merge environmentally friendly specialised coatings with an equally environmentally friendly production process. By addressing the world pollution issues from two angles, both product and process, we have won the attention of several well-known UK company’s and household names.
